Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow is committed to playing an important role in promoting quality higher education,
research, innovation, societal well-being, and human values as envisioned and reflected in the constitution of India given by Dr.
Ambedkar. University has implemented National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, emphasizing Access, Equity, Quality, Affordability, and
Accountability. Considering the effective implementation of the NEP202, the top priority of the university, UG and PG programs have
been redesigned and restructured to give maximum flexibility to students to choose from various elective courses offered by several
departments with multiple entry and exit. The curriculum at Bachelor's level and Master's Level are based on the philosophy and
practices of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), with greater emphasis on Skill development, human values, Community Engagement &
Community Service, and Indian knowledge tradition. We have also focused on an ICT-based education system to reach all corners of
society with enhanced employability and vocational training.

Account Bank of Credit (ABC)
The University has implemented Academic Bank of Credit policy with registration of students by opening of unique/personal Academic Bank Accounts in digital form. Total 7363 ABC IDs have been created and uploaded on the portal so far, which is likely to increase by the end of 2023 with the target of 100% accounts of students in the university. https://nad.gov.in/
Revised and Updated Curriculum:
The University has 18 Schools of diverse disciplines and 44 Departments with 99 programmes.
The University is offering 26 Ph.D. Programme, 47 PG Programmes, 19 UG Programmes, 01 PG Diploma, 04 Diploma and 02 Certificate Course currently. 04 Year UG implemented in 09 UG programmes from current academic session 2023 onwards (few programmes governed by BCI/NCTE/AICTE etc. are in the process of implementation as per guidelines.).
Multidisciplinary nature is encouraged by implementing a Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and other collaborative courses and programmes.CBCS/ Elective Courses implemented in all 47 PG and 14 UG Programmes (except 05 UG programmes governed by BCI/AICTE etc. are in the process of implementation as per their guideline.) https://www.bbau.ac.in/CBCS.aspx
Diversity in terms of Elective courses on skill development, ability enhancement, and Indian knowledge tradition has been introduced with a multidisciplinary approach.
Additionally, interdisciplinary research is promoted, and faculty members are encouraged to collaborate with other academic and research institutes.

Keeping in mind the NEP-2020, UG and PG programs have been redesigned and restructured to give maximum flexibility to
students to choose from various elective courses offered by several departments. The curriculum at Bachelor's level

As per the recommendations of NEP -2020, the curriculum is implemented from the session 2022 onwards in all the programs
except a few where regulatory bodies like NCTE, PCI, and Bar Council of India, ICAR etc., still need to provide guidelines.

The curriculum at Bachelor's level and Master's Level are based on the philosophy and practices of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS),
and MPDC courses emphasizing Skill development (Remedial Language-English, Basics of Computer), Human Values (Ambedkar Studies),
Community Engagement & Community Service (Gender Studies and Community Service).
Every department has designed courses for Value addition, Skill development, Ability enhancement, Indian Knowledge Tradition and
System, Community Engagement and Internship Project/Apprenticeship, and Experimental and Experiential Learning with credit requirements.
India Specific Knowledge and Liberal Arts have been placed as far as possible in various courses/ programmes and the same has been mentioned
in the course objectives and Learning outcomes.
Multiple Entry and Exit in Academic Programmes
Provision of Multiple Entries and Multiple Exits has been initiated. To operationalize it, within the institution and outside the institution,
the process of formulation of uniform policy has been initiated at the university level with the objective of its implementation from the session
2022-23 onwards, keeping in view the flexibility, choices, and autonomy issues so that the maximum benefits may be given to the learners in the
spirit of NEP-2020.
The Time limit for re-entry in the same course through MEE (Multiple Entry-Exit) is double the duration of the course plus one additional year to
complete a course via re-entry
Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET)
The University has taken admission through CUET, and the students from 28 states, including Andaman & Nicobar,
Ladakh, and North-East Region, have been admitted in the session 2022-23.

Distance Education/Online Education:
The University is signing MoU with IGNOU and UPRTOU for starting online and Open and Distance Learning (ODL) education in
the joint venture by establishing a study centre, Institutional exchanges between students, faculty, and staff; Collaboration

As and when the need arises, the departments are involved in utilizing ICT Platforms for teaching and learning, including
academic meetings. The library's E-resources are also available with remote access to all the students, research scholars,

Swayam and MOOCs Courses are an integral part of programmes for promoting online education in all the semesters except the

Emphasis on Value Added, Skill Development and Vocational Programmes and Courses:
Every department has designed additional courses of 2 to 4 credits leading to Skill development, Ability enhancement, Indian Traditional Knowledge, Community Engagement and Internship, Project/Apprenticeship, Experimental and Experiential Learning with credit requirements. Our University is promoting Vocational education to graduate students to promote skill and training for developing a trained workforce.

University also offers compulsory MPDC courses in Remedial English language, English Communication, Basics of Computer,
MPDC- Ambedkar Studies for inculcating human values and MPDC -Gender Studies and community service for community engagement and service.
05 Internship/Apprenticeship embedded Degree programmes are being conducted presently.
The University has initiated more Internship/Apprenticeship embedded Degree programmes in the coming sessions.
Department of skill and vocational Studies has started three courses in collaboration with HQ AMC Centre to meet society's and the Nation's current needs. The Centre is running the following courses: a mix of knowledge and skill development.

Appropriate Integration of Indian Knowledge System/ Heritage and Culture (teaching in Indian Language, and culture, using online courses):
India Specific Knowledge and Liberal Arts have been placed as far as possible in various courses/ programmes, and the same has been mentioned in the course objectives and Learning outcomes.
Regular seminars/webinars and workshops are organized to promote Indian languages for integrating the Indian Knowledge system into the curriculum of all the disciplines.
The Hindi department of the University offers M.A. and Ph.D. in Hindi. University has recently initiated the School of Sanskrit and Indic
Studies to promote teaching and research in the emerging field of Sanskrit Sahitya, Vyakaran, in Veda. Ph.D. and Postgraduate programs
in Sanskrit, Pali, Sanskrit Computational Linguistics, and Vedic culture are the salient features of this school.

Focus on Outcome-Based Education (OBE):
The University has 18 Schools and 43 Departments with 99 programmes, all offered as Outcome Based Education. All the programmes
mention Programme Outcomes (PO), Programmes Specific Outcomes (PSO), and all the courses mention Course Outcomes (CO). These
programmes have been designed , considering the requirement of job-oriented Industries, Global, and the country's local needs.
Academic Collaboration with Foreign Heis for Joint and Dual Degree Programmes
The University has adopted a Gazette Notification dated 02 May 2022 for the same. Some joint and dual degree programmes with highly reputed institutions of the country like-IIT-BHU, Integral University Lucknow, CSIR NBRI, CSIR CIMAP, CSIR IITR Centre for Biomedical Resonance SGPGI Lucknow, ICAR NBFGR Lucknow etc are in place. MoUs with a few other institutes have also been initiated.

Office of International Affairs Known as -The International Student Centre(ISC) at BBAU
The International Students Centre has been established in the University to transcend the barriers of national boundaries and reach international fora.
The Centre acts as the nodal agency to assist foreign nationals wishing to be admitted to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University in different courses in all their academic pursuits.

Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, in association with the Central Educational and Research Institutions of Lucknow
plans to establish “Consortium of Institutions” for the purpose of sharing resources and coordination for research and educational
advancement.
