National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Service Organization, comprising the army, Navy and Air Force, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. Training in NCC instills qualities like nationalism, patriotism, disciplined, team spirit, sprit-de-corps, leadership and self- confidence and promotes overall personality development. NCC gives a tremendous opportunity to one and all for betterment, irrespective of caste, creed, religion or economic status. Based on the aims of NCC, the organization has laid down training syllabi for the cadets. The syllabi for the senior division cadets cover a period of three years. The NCC (Girls) wing of the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University started on 12 August, 2010 with the strength of 50 Cadets is attached to the 20 UP Girls BATTALION NCC of the Army and NCC (Boys) Division started from 2016-17 session with the strength of 50 Cadets is attached to the 67 UP BATTALION NCC of the Army. Total strength of enrolled cadets (Girls & Boys) is 120. All NCC activities, in the University campus are conducted under the supervision of Col. (Prof.) Sanjay Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University. Capt. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow striving for academic excellence, and at the same time sponsoring varieties of activities that would contribute to the wholesome development of personality and promote health among students. NCC is the one such area promoted by the University with an intention of ensuring Physical, Mental and Emotional well being of the Student Community. For the smooth conduct of the intramural and extramural programme of the university, the NCC was established by the University in the year 2010. The NCC caters to the multiple benefits of students from all Departments’ and Schools’ of the BBAU.
