As a yet another step in the continuous process of developing Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow to one of the best of its kind in the nation, it was decided to establish an Information and Guidance Bureau (I.& G.B.) in the campus. In order to build the career, the students need to know what the options available are and where and how they can achieve it. In order to cater these precise needs of the students, the I. & G.B. came into existence since 27.08.07 and is committed to do the needful for the benefit of the students, alumni and scholars of the campus. The Cell also caters to the need of society by organising awareness campaigns on women, literacy, health and hygiene in slums and villages time to time.

In order to build their career, students need to know what the options available to them are and where and how they can achieve it. To cater to these precise needs of the students, the Information and Guidance Bureau (I&GB) was started in August 2007 and is committed to do the needful for the benefit of the students and alumni. The I & GB of the University is engaged in rendering meaningful services to the student community in matters of securing various placements matching with their qualification and aptitude, education loans, higher education, competitive exams, scholarship, fellowships and assistantships available in India and abroad

The main function of the Bureau is to disseminate the Employment Information for various courses offered by the University. The students are explained about various job opportunities, qualifications, age limits, and scheme of competitive examinations and about higher education in India and abroad. Tasks of the bureau are to conduct Career Conferences where eminent personalities from different walks of life will address the students, collect and display various career-related information, provide handbooks of foreign Universities, newspapers, bulletin of sister bureau, Employment News and occupational information files for the reference of students. Further, it is also to render vocational guidance to the students individually or in groups and to collect and disseminate the occupational information, Training facilities, financial assistance available in India and abroad.
