The Department of Information Technology was established in the year 2020 after restructuring of the Department of Computer Science & Information Technology under BBAU Satellite Centre, Amethi. The Department of Computer Science & Information Technology was established in the year 2016 under BBAU Satellite Centre, Amethi. The Department offers undergraduate course is B.Sc. (Information Technology) The department has well established and provides better facilities.

Bachelor of Science, (B.Sc.-IT) is a Bachelor's degree awarded for an undergraduate course or program in the Information technology field of duration three years (6 semesters). The aim of B.Sc. (IT) degree is to provide basic inputs in various aspects of IT and broad understanding of other interdisciplinary interfaces for providing the needs of effective business management by bridging the gaps between managerial practices and Information Technology. This degree is primarily focused on subjects such as software engineering, databases, and networking.

After B.Sc.-IT the students are capable to work for MNCs or can do master course like MSc-IT, MSc-CS or MCA or other PG degree program in IT or CS stream. It is a degree that prepares students for a career in the field of software design and development, IT Systems & applications.

Department has executed one Major Research Project entitled “Risk assessment of Self Reported Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS) in young generation exposed to EMR from Mobile Communication Technologies” which was funded by The Uttar Pradesh Council of Science and Technology (UPCST). Dr. Neeraj Kumar Tiwari was Principal Investigator of this project.

We are promoting the students to gain the knowledge from fundamentals to recent trends and technologies of IT. The students of final year are encouraged to work on live projects in collaboration with industries or IT firms. In addition to the academic development, proper attention is also given towards the personal development of students in co-curricular activities
