Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, New Delhi has set up the Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence (DACE) in Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University by signing the Memorandum of Understanding on 22nd April 2022. Our university is one among the thirty Central Universities in the country where the Ministry has established the DACE. The DACE will provide specialized free coaching to the only Scheduled Caste students for the Civil Services Examination conducted by the UPSC. In order to nourish the aspirants of civil services, the Centre will provide best coaching facility to the 100 selected candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste community through Common Entrance Test. The Centre will provide good infrastructure facilities of library, Hi-speed internet, Reading Room to the students for preparing them for most prestigious competitive examination of the country. The DACE will have dedicated qualified, professional faculties and resource persons for providing a best coaching to the students through class room teaching, seminars, expert interaction, mock test and interviews etc

Objectives of DACE

  • To provide a quality education and best coaching facility to the students belonging to Schedule Caste for achieving success in the highly competitive Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC.
  • To train the aspirant civil servants for becoming a successful administrators who can provide good governance in the country
  • To nourish good candidates for becoming a civil servants who can uphold the virtues of liberty, equality, justice and fraternity;
  • iv) Instill the values of honesty, commitment and social justice in the enrolled students; and inculcate the culture of serving the nation and the community in them
  • Eligibility Criteria for Students and Selection Procedure for the Free Coaching

  • In order to be considered for admission into the center for desired subject, candidates must have achieved the required minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination
  • The Scheme is open to only Scheduled Caste students. University shall obtain verify requisite caste certificate from the concerned candidate /student/issued by the competent authorities in his / her respective States /UTs or as the case may be
  • The coaching benefits under the scheme may only be utilized by a student ONCE regardless of the number of chances that he/she may be entitled to in a particular Competitive Examination. The student must submit to the University an affidavit stating that he/ she has not received any monetary benefit from any of the other scheme by Government of India, State/UTs or any funding agency
  • The candidates enrolled under this scheme shall have to attend all the classes. In case of remaining absent for more than 15 days without any valid reason, or leaving the coaching midway without prior approval of the competent authority, the total expenditure incurred on the candidate will be recovered from the University/ student/ candidate concerned. University shall be responsible for the recovery.
  • A total of hundred seats (100) sanctioned for coaching per Centre. 33% of the total sanctioned seats for coaching may preferably be given to the eligible female candidates of SC category. In case the sufficient number of eligible female candidates do not apply, University may allocate the vacant seats to the male / transgender candidates (SC category only)
  • The concerned University shall widely publicize the scheme through open advertisement and make a public notice for a Common Entrance Test (CET). The student shall be selected through an entrance test conducted by the University as per merit.
  • The University will be required to maintain Attendance Registers for all candidates enrolled for the coaching classes as well as subject-wise results of practice tests, or any other evaluation

  • DACE Classes was inaugurated by Shri Tufani Singh, Member UP State Scheduled Caste Commission on 14th October 2022.
  • Special Lecture by ShriBabu Ram, IAS (Rtd.) & Prof. KalicharanSnehiLucknow University on 14-04-2023(AmbedkarJayanti).
  • Facilities:-

    DACE library is running in the RCA library where around 3000 Books are available. The latest edition of Competitive Books for UPSC is procured. Magazines & News Papers are available. DACE students have access to the Central Library of BBAU Where students have facility to study in the Reading Hall that Opens 24X7 hours. Students are provided high speed Wi-Fi facility.
